NTA Workshops CIC is planning a 45 minute musical gala, performed by two adults and 15 local children, that will tour residential homes and hospices in February and March 2023 and finish in a large venue for those members of our community who live alone but have mobility. This is a grant funded project created by the community, for the community.

The project will see a group of young people aged between 8-16, rehearse and at times reimagine classic Rock and Roll songs from the 1960s, as well as small scenes set in the 1960s. They will then visit 10 different retirement and care homes to perform these songs in a 45 minute interactive show.

They will encourage the residents to sing along while enjoying the performance set by the young people. The tour will be spread over two months and will be rehearsed and performed at weekends. On the final day of the project, working closely with a local primary school, their PTA, and local Churches/Charities we will invite as many local housebound elderly to an afternoon ‘Tea and Cakes’ event where our Young People will perform for the final time. By working with other Not for Profit organisations such as schools and churches etc our aim is to attract and include as many of our elderly residence as possible for the total of this event.

C'MON EVERYBODY will feature classic Rock and Roll songs from 1960s including: 'Rock Around the Clock', 'Yakety Yak', ‘In the Still of the Night', 'Tears On My Pillow' plus more oldies.

As part of the project we would like to run this event in two districts: Thurrock Council (Thurrock East) and Maldon District. The contents, structure and personnel will be the same, however this entitles us to use the same resources to open up to a wider community, both where the company is based and where the two main Staff currently reside.

NTA Workshops CIC is a not for profit Community Interest Company that provide performing arts workshops and weekly clubs to children in the local area for ages 7-16. Our key aim is to help improve children’s social and performing skills as well as boost confidence. However, with this project we are looking to take our company one step further and bridge the gap in our community and reach out to the elderly and house bound.

We are not currently recruiting young people or taking bookings until the project has been given the green light for funding. However, we are open for any residential homes, hospices or venue to protect the vulnerable members of our community to join our touring list. The longer the list of interest and the more diverse, the better our application for funding will be. Should you be interested in having your venue part of our tour, please fill in the contact form on our Contact Us page and someone will get back to you soon.
